Nigeria in Crisis

Unending Terror Attacks, School Abductions, and Shutdown of 41 Unity Colleges Expose Governance Failure

The  CRESTHOPE CARE FOUNDATION expresses grave concern over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, marked by attacks on worshippers, mass abductions of school children, and the unprecedented closure of 41 Federal Unity Colleges due to mounting threats. These tragic events highlight a catastrophic collapse of national security and an unforgivable failure of duty by those responsible for protecting citizens.

In Kwara State, terrorists invaded a church in Eruku, killing worshippers and abducting several people, including the pastor. This atrocity underscores the depth of insecurity in traditionally safe spaces.

In Niger State, over 200 schoolchildren and 12 teachers were abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area. This attack mirrors previous mass school kidnappings, exposing the vulnerability of children seeking education.
